Thanks to a request I am once again leading a low tide adventure at Mee Kwa Mooks Park / Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook. What kinds of sea stars will we see? Will we expose nudy-branchs when we look under the rocks covering their private parts? Will the Shore Crabs be crabby? Will the Piddock Clams squirt at us when we put our fingers down the holes they’ve drilled in the rocks? Will the Great Blue Herons and Pigeon Guillemots be nearby fishing on and off shore?
Dress for the weather and a rocky beach with wet spots.
All ages and knowledge levels welcome!
Meet by the small lawn area with the bench on the north side of the public beach access, across from the street from the port-a-potty. Mee Kwa Mooks Park / Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook is about a mile south of Alki Point in West Seattle.
Please RSVP, if possible, to ecostewart@gmail.com or 206 932-7225, to give me a contact list if I were ever to need to cancel, and to allow me to estimate group size, and plan additional sessions if group seems it will be large. If you haven’t RSVP’d just show up!
